WordPress 6.7 New Features Highlights

The new Twenty Twenty-Five theme is a game-changer! It offers a revamped Site Editor experience, allowing users to:

  • Mix & match color palettes and typography independently.
  • Add custom fonts presets with fluid values, enhancing responsive designs.

🎨 2. New support for border radius, shadow and background images for many blocks

WordPress 6.7, small enhancements:

  • Background image settings are now available for post content block, quote and verse blocks.
  • Groups can leverage shadows, and columns can now apply border radius, buttons have now padding, colors and border settings.
  • Lists blocks can now have unique colors and borders for each item.

🖼️ 3. Improved Media Handling

Great news for photographers and content creators:

  • Drag and drop multiple images directly to create galleries automatically.
  • Support for HEIC/HEIF images from iPhones, which are automatically converted to JPG for web compatibility.
  • A new lightbox effect lets users click on images to expand them beautifully on the page.

📋 4. Streamlined Data Management

Managing your content is now more intuitive:

  • The Data View has been improved, making it easier to filter, sort, and organize pages and templates.
  • Query Loop improvements include better handling of the setting to choose how many posts to display on the page.
  • Meta boxes are now always visible, even on longer pages, so you don’t have to scroll endlessly to access them.

For those who love working with dynamic content:

  • The updated editor now supports dynamic data binding, allowing you to connect custom fields directly to blocks.
  • This is a huge step toward creating dynamic templates without the need for third-party plugins.

⚙️ 6. Optimized Performance & Lazy Loading

Site performance is critical for user experience and SEO:

  • New attribute “auto” added to lazy loaded images below the fold to optimize performance.
